Government presents Certificate of Recognition to 2 traditional rulers

Amawbia, Feb. 22, 2020 (MOI) Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra has presented Certificate of Recognition to two elected traditional rulers in Anambra State.
They are the traditional rulers of Nkpologwu, Ag?ata Local Government Area, Igwe Moses Obijikwa Okpalanwaka and that of Isulo, Igwe Chike Mmaduka.
The event was held at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.
The Governor urged them to uphold integrity and use the traditional stools to promote peace in their various communities.
Gov. Obiano, then, enjoined them to embrace Community Policing Initiative and forward names of special constables to Anambra State Police Commissioner to be trained.
Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr Greg Obi commended Government for promoting peace in every community in the state.
Obi noted that the electoral process in Nkpologwu community was peaceful, as it was a unanimous decision of the people.
According to him, Gov. Obiano has demonstrated excellence in his style of governance. He has never allowed vacuum to exist in the traditional institutions.
``So, this is in continuation of his mode of governance to avoid vacuum. If everyone emulates the system of electing traditional rulers in Nkpologwu community, there will always be peace,” Obi said.
He stressed that the Governor’s intervention helped to restore peace and unity in Isulo community.
Traditional Ruler of Okpuno, Igwe Sunday Okafor urged traditional rulers to ensure peace in communities, urging them to support the present administration of Gov. Obiano to attract more developments. (MOI)
