Awka, June 12, 2019 (MOI) Anambra State Government has engaged the services of cleaners, Sweet Home Cleaning Service, for daily cleaning of the Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka.

This is in a bid to ensuring conducive work environment for civil servants and the right clean atmosphere for members of the public, who have businesses to transact at the complex.

The Information Ministry’s Environment correspondent reports that no fewer than 53 cleaners were seen on June 11 carrying on cleaning services at block C within the complex.

As part of their routine, they would sweep offices and grounds while ensuring that the buildings and surroundings were kept clean on a daily basis.

They would also ensure that toilets would be kept clean at all times, coordinate the management of wastes within the facility.

They cleaners would be expected to report damages to facilities and those for repairs or replacements, where necessary to the Ministry of Housing.

In an interview with the correspondent, Mr Samuel Dominic, one of the supervisors of the company, noted that part of his job was always to ensure that the cleaners were punctual and effective at their various assigned duty posts.

``The cleaners will sweep all surroundings as well all staircases, passages as well as clean windows of all offices within the premises.

``They will ensure good results by using scrapers to remove paint, chewing gums and stubborn dirt, while tile chemical solutions will be used to shine the tiles,’’ he said.

Dominic enjoined the cleaners to be active at their duty posts, noting that any inactive ones among them would be replaced. (MOI)
