GOV. OBIANO HONOURS DILIGENT, FALLEN OFFICERS

Awka, Dec. 14, 2017 -- Anambra State
Government has honoured the best performing officers from various security
agencies serving in the state.
The agencies include the Police, Nigeria
Army, Navy, Civil Defence, DSS, FRSC, Vigilance group.
The awards were presented during the inauguration of ``Operation Udoka’’ at Benin Park, Onitsha.
Gov. Willie Obiano also honoured and awarded N1 million each to families of three police officers and one DSS who lost their lives in the Nov. 18 Governorship Election in Anambra.
Some of the officers who received the award include, the Best Operational Officer (Police), Mr Odumu Williams, Best Traffic Safety Officer (FRSC), Ejiem Ufiem, Best DPO (police), Mark Ijarafu.
Other awardees are Best Marine Officer
(Navy), Best Combat Officer (Army).
Presenting the awards, Gov. Obiano said it was in appreciation of their doggedness in securing the lives of the people.
He added that no kidnap case had been
recorded in the last three years.

``We have recruited and trained 125 combined personnel of security agencies to be stationed at various public places to apprehend or foil any clandestine criminal operation.’’
Obiano adds: ``we have also commenced the construction of 112 capacity motel that will accommodate articulated vehicle drivers at New Tarzan, Nkpor’’.
``The essence of the project is to ensure adequate rest for drivers before embarking on their long journeys.
``This will reduce incessant accidents; as it
will energise and prevent them from sleeping on their steering.’’
