GAS EMISSION IGNITES OPEN FIRE AT NNEWI

Nnewi North, April 17, 2018 -- A gas emission which occasioned fire outbreak at Odunga stream in Umuzu village, Otolo Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area has attracted the attention of the Anambra State Emergency Management Agency.

The fire which has been raging according to villagers since December last year, was intially taken to be a case of bush burning.

A resident Mr. Chukwuemeka Nzewi, said that intially villagers though the fire was an act of bush burning. 

However the president General of the town Mr Anthony Afam Muoduelo who led the youths of the village to the stream discovered that it was gas emission that ignites open fire and subsequently invited the attention of the State Emergency Management Agency.

The Executive Secretary Anambra State Emergency Management Agency, Chief Paul Odenigbo, represented by a planning officer in the agency, Mr Izuchukwu Emmanuel, confirmed the incident as a case of gas emission.

He called for a collabortative effort between the agency at both state and national level in putting out the fire.

The President General, Mr Anthony Afam Mnoduelo, thanked SEMA officers and prayed that governmenst at all levels should come to their aid and ameliorate their suffering.
