FRSC TASKS STAKEHOLDERS TO IMBIBE CULTURE OF ROAD SAFETY
By John Ndu
Nkpor, April 20, 2018 --The Federal Road Safety Corps says it would continue to instill the culture of road safety in the minds of the general public, road users and entire stakeholders of the commission.
The Sector Commander FRSC in Anambra state, Mr Sunday Ajayi stated this after a shareholders meeting with New Motor Spare Parts and New Tyre dealers Nkpor to enhance safety on the highways.
He believed that they play strategic role in road safety in view of public outcry of fake spare parts in the market which causes damage and accidents.
This, according to Mr Ajayi, was why the corps appealed to the conscience of New Motor Spare parts dealers at the point of sale to collaborate with the command and support roads safety ideals.
He noted that FRSC introduced them to some of road safety programmes like Driver licence, Number plates and installation of Speed Limiting Device.
The Spare parts and New Tyre dealers however pledged to comply with command's rules and regulations guiding road safety as well as be part of public enlightenment programme by sponsoring road safety programmes on radio and television.
Some of the New Part dealers in Nkpor Mr Chinedu Offoma and Ekene Nwafor described the meeting as greatly rewarding and promised never to sale fake products with a view to enhancing road safety ideals.
