Ekwulobia (Aguata LGA), April 10, 2019 (MOI) President, Pig Farmers Association of Nigeria, Mr Chukwudozie Dan Ezeokoli, has commended Gov. Willie Obiano's achievements in the state, with special regards to security.

Ezeokoli made the commendation while addressing members of the association during their General Meeting, at Aguata Council Field.

He noted that security was one of the areas that the governor recorded his most impressive achievements.

``Anambra State has really become the 1st choice location for industrialisation, particularly because crimes like kidnapping and robbery had virtually disappeared in the state,’’ the president said.

``Although at interval, we still hear cases of criminality at one place or the other. It goes to tell us that criminality cannot be completely eradicated but can be reduced.’’

The president notes: `` Gov. Obiano is agriculture-friendly and there is a lot of money in Agric, but some affluent Ndi Anambra do not know this, as they prefer to invest in building of filling stations and hotels.

``Agriculture is one area for investment that brings returns without measure as investment on pig feeds formulation, milling, mixing, packaging and marketing will not only bring returns but reduce unemployment.

``As a Professor of Veterinary Medicine, with years of experience in pig production, I will tell you that investment in pork processing, packaging and export will yield quick returns on investment.

``It is common knowledge that naira is getting weaker against the dollar, pounds and Euros, therefore, exports will pay more than imports,” Ezeokoli added.

He pointed out that high yielding species of pigs and materials needed to produce pig feeds of high quality were available locally.

He, then, urged affluent Ndi Anambra to utilise Obiano's security achievements to invest in processing and packaging of pork for export as pork is popular in China and other countries of the world. (MOI)
