Onitsha, Feb. 13, 2018 --The Catholic Nurses Guild of Nigeria, Onitsha Archdiocese has offered free medical tests and medication to people to mark the `World’s Health Day of The Sick’.
The celebration, marked on Feb. 11, every year was initiated by the late Pope John Paul II, 30 years ago.
The event was usually celebrated by visiting one Catholic Church or a specialist hospital to offer free medical tests and drugs to the sick.
In a speech at St. Benedict Parish, Fegge, Onitsha, the leader of the group Mrs Victoria Nwajikwa urged people to always observe good medical and hygiene habits to ensure healthy living.
``Go for checkups, eat more of fruits, vegetables, drink water regularly and desist from eating late and ensure balanced diet for healthy living,’’ Nwajikwa remarked.
She also said the exercise was usually funded by individuals, companies and Government, who provide money and drugs.
