Awka, Aug. 8, 2018 (MOI) Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA), has expressed a desire to partner the Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Anambra State Chapter to publicise the state.

Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of ACTDA, Ven. Amaechi Okwuosa said this when the team paid him a courtesy visit at his office at Awka.

Ven. Okwuosa, however, urged the Media team to find ways to curb character assassination on social media and promised to look into their request of partnering ACTDA.

He briefed the team on ACTDA’s creation, stressing that their record of development was meant to attract foreign investors, control the development processes and maintain standards.

``The level of progress by ACTDA shows it is moving well, it will soon make the dreams of Gov. Willie Obiano to turn the state into Dubai-Taiwan in Nigeria achievable,” Okwuosa said.

The ACTDA boss emphasised that authority had an approved standard master plan for developers to use, which would reduce constant collapse of buildings and make them adhere to set rules to maintain uniformity.

``The authority has carried the area mapping of the state; that is a huge milestone as surveyors and town planners, who are confused about the ownership of particular property or lands, come to ACTDA for clarification.

``ACTDA has also achieved lots of other feat like construction of barricades on the expressway and the uniform perimeter fencing to check activities of miscreants,” he noted.

He said that the poor economic situation of the country was the only hindrance facing them at moment, urging the team not to relent.

Earlier, Online Media team, Anambra Chapter led by their State Chairman, Mr Mike Nwachukwu, said the visit was in line with their upcoming inauguration.

He solicited partnering with ACTDA for the association to spread the news of their great strides to the larger society through social media network. (MOI)
