``I want us to take care of drainage channels around our residences and ensure they are not blocked.
``It is regrettable that some people dump refuse in drainages, thereby blocking channels that government spent huge amounts to build.
``We should take the cognisance of the fact that the rainy season is here again and there is urgent need for drainage channels to be free in order to avoid flood disaster.’’
He adds: ``bag your wastes and dispose them in ASWAMA waste bins located in various places for onward evacuation by the agency.
``I want us to note that maintenance of clean environment is a collective responsibility and we must know that the environment we neglect today will take revenge on us tomorrow.’’
