Awka, June10, 2019 (MOI) Anglican Cleric, Ven. Samuel Okonkwo has urged the clergies, teachers and wives to avoid unnecessary competition for worldly things.
Okonkwo, vicar and resident priest in charge of Cathedral Church of St. Faith, Awka said this during a meeting held at the Church on June 9.
In his homily, Okonkwo noted that most of the clergy and church teachers and wives were fond of imitating worldly fashions.
``Be careful with your fashion in a bid to be different and keep away from pagan lifestyle.
``You are the mirror that people are watching and therefore should live up to expectation,’’ he added.
The cleric urged wives to do the needful in order to protect the ministry of their husbands which were costly.
``Walk toward righteousness bearing in mind that you are not of this world and therefore should not conform to the ways of the world.
``Do not compromise relationship with unbelievers as it is dangerous,’’ Okonkwo added.
The cleric urged wives to be transparent in their services while doing the work of God to avoid His wrath but show contentment.
He enjoined the clergy, teachers and wives to obey the rudiments of the ministry. ``It is your attitude not your aptitude that will determine the altitude.
``Your character is measured by what you do when no one is observing,’’ he added.
He enjoined the women to help their husbands in
their vision and mission for ministerial survival. (MOI)
