ANAMBRA URGES COMMUNITIES TO COMPLETE PROJECTS

Awka, April 13, 2018 -- Anambra state Government has again sent an appeal to all the Traditional Rulers, President-Generals and Contractors in the three senatorial zones to complete their community projects in the first phase ‘choose your project initiatives.’

This was contained in a press release signed by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment Mr. C.Don Adinuba made available to the public on Wednesday, April 11, 2018.

The Government said in the release, “It has come to the attention of the Anambra State Government that some communities in the three senatorial zones of the state have not yet concluded work on their chosen projects under the 1st phase of the  N20m community choose your project programme of the government.”

“Government wishes to for the umpteenth time, appeal to such communities to as a matter of urgency expedite action towards the completion of all projects embarked upon by such communities in the 1st phase.”

“The traditional rulers, the president generals of those communities, and the contractors handling the apparently stalled projects are particularly enjoined to do all that is necessary to attain project completion objective soonest.”

“Government also wishes to call on the communities still lagging behind in the completion of their 1st phase in the N 20m community choose your project initiative that such delay is hampering the realization of the overall objective in government approaching the programme in a stage by stage basis, such that the completion of the 1st phase would be a condition for participating in the 2nd phase.”

The Government also said, “We reiterate that His Excellency Chief Dr. Willie Obiano, initiated this laudable programme, now being embraced by some other sub national governments in Nigeria to ensure even development in all the communities in the state.”

“Government is set to commence the 3rd phase of the community development and it is vital that this time, all community chosen projects that execution must start simultaneously in all the 179 communities in the state.”

The release pressed that those communities still lagging behind in the completion of the 1st phase are therefore holding not only their communities and people, but Ndi Anambra, down.”
