ANAMBRA TO ESTABLISH ENTREPRENEURSHIP ACADEMY

Awka, April 18, 2018 -- Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy, Mr Bonaventure Enemali has announced government's plan to establish an Entrepreneurship Academy in the state.
Mr Enemali said this during a visit to the Chike Okoli Center for Entrepreneurship Studies (COCES), Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, as part of his tour to all the entrepreneurship centers in the state.
The Commissioner said that the establishment of the academy would be for the benefit of those with ideas and skills but without assistance and mentorship.
According to him, the ministry has mandate to ensure that Anambra youths are economically independent.
"The only way we can make a better nation is by having entrepreneurs. Only entrepreneurs drive successful countries", he said.
Enemali commended Gov. Obiano for inaugurating the Anambra Youth Empowerment and Creative Council, which is made up of entrepreneurs who have done so well in their different businesses.
He said that the ministry would have a solid monitoring team for the academy and would be done in a way that graduands will form an alumni and contact point for the monitoring to enhance their professionalism.
"The Governor’s priority is to make Anambra State the best destination for investors. We are not going to lose focus of that. We are going to leverage on the existing structures and centers in the state”, Enemali said.
Thanking the Commissioner for the government's interest in the center, the Director, of the Center Prof. Ngozi Anyikwa, assured that the center would support whatever the government wants that is in line with the vision and mission of the COCES.She said that the major mandate of the centre was to instill entrepreneurial spirit in the students such that they would be ultimately employers of labour.
