ANAMBRA SWEARS IN 2 NEW HIGH COURT JUDGES
By John Ndu :
Awka, Dec. 3, 2019 (MOI) Gov. Willie Obiano has urged judges to be dedicated to their duties and to deploy their wealth of knowledge in the discharge of their duties.
``Discharge justice without fear or favour and work hard to help in repositioning the Judiciary,’’ he said while swearing two judges.
The two new judges are Victoria Nwoye Esq., who was formerly at Customary Court, Abuja and Onyinye Anumonye Esq., a private lawyer.
The governor pledged to continue to support the judiciary, enjoining them to facilitate litigation processes so as to decongest those in the awaiting trial lists.
He commended state Chief Judge and National Judicial Council (NJC) for making the appointments possible while promising that the state government would ensure that the judges receive their emoluments and other entitlements promptly.
State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr Uju Nwogu, commended Government measures aimed at promoting the welfare of the judiciary.
One of the judges, Justice Anumonye thanked
government for finding them worthy for the positions, stressing that their
appointment was a call for greater service. (MOI)
