Nnobi (Idemili South LGA), Nov. 6, 2019 (MOI) Anambra State Government has intensified rehabilitation of all bad roads in the state.

Commissioner for Works, Mr Marcel Ifejiofor said this at Agulu-Nnobi Road, while inspecting some select roads under repair.

Mr Ifejiofor, an Engineer, said government would ensure that all dilapidated roads would be refurbished before Christmas to ensure safe motoring by residents and other motorists passing through the state.

He noted that Gov. Willie Obiano had directed massive rehabilitation of roads by contractors in order to fix potholes.

``Massive road rehabilitation has been on; we’re assuring the public that all road corridors across the state will be fixed by construction companies that we have deployed to all nooks and crannies of the state.”

He pointed out that the contractor handling Enugwu Ukwu-Nise-Nibo-Agu Awka Road had since commenced asphalting some sections of the road, while Nwagu Agulu-Nnobi Road was being attended to presently.

He prayed for fair weather so that the rehabilitations would proceed unhindered.

Ifejiofor said that all failed portions of the highways in the state were being attended to simultaneously.

He thanked motorists for their patience and abiding faith in the ability of Anambra Government to bring succour and comfort to them, assuring that they would not be let down.

A motorist, Mr Tyndale Onyilofor hailed the state government for carrying out comprehensive rehabilitation work on failed portions of roads in the state.

He said that most of the roads he plied now wear new looks, pleading with government to sustain the tempo. (MOI)
