Awka, June 11, 2019 (MOI) Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra State has inaugurated a business incubation training for practicing and aspiring entrepreneurs.

The maiden entrepreneurship programme was flagged-off at the Integral Development Konsult (IDK) Centre, Awka

``The business incubation training for practicing and aspiring entrepreneurs is an offshoot of the One Youth, One Skill programme of the Anambra Government.

``It is aimed at making youths to be economically self-reliant,” Gov. Obiano said.

The governor urged youths to deploy their energies meaningfully to promote National development.

He condemned the rate of involvement of youths in cultism and abuse of illicit drug while enjoining them to deploy their energies positively.

He appealed to participants to make proper use of the training to learn skills that would enable them to make impact in the society.

The governor, then, announced that his administration was working out plans with the World Bank to help the trainees to have easy access to loans.

He urged youths to embrace farming, while emphasizing that Anambra had great potential in agricultural production.

Earlier, the outgoing Commissioner for Youth Entrepreneurship and Creative Economy, Mr Bonaventure Enemali expressed happiness that the initiatives embarked upon by the government had empowered no fewer than 4,000 youths.

Mr Enemali said the programme was intended to mentor youths by offering them support to become useful to the society.

The lead facilitator of the programme and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Professor Felix Idemobi, affirmed that the programme was tailored toward reducing poverty.

``It has offered youths the opportunity to acquire useful entrepreneurial skills,’’ he added. (MOI)
