ANAMBRA BOUNDARY COMMITTEE SET TO SETTLE IGBARIAM, NANDO BOUNDARY DISPUTE

Awka, June 13, 2018 (MOI) Anambra State Boundary Technical Team (ASBTT) has commenced demarcation of the boundary between Igbariam and Nando being disputed by the two communities.
The Executive Secretary of the team, Mr Emma Nwokoye, had earlier made this known to the indigenes of the communities during a sensitisation visit by the team to the area recently.
``Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra has been committing enormous resources toward resolution of all boundary disputes in the state.
``We have deliberated and approved the demarcation of boundary between Igbariam and Nando. We solicit your co-operation so as to ensure we have hitch-free exercise in the field,’’ Nwokoye said.
Anambra State Deputy Surveyor-General, Ikechukwu Ofojebe, commended the communities for their peaceful disposition so far.
``The best form of boundary settlement is when there is consensus between disputing communities.
``So, I urge you people to always imbibe the spirit of give and take so as to give way for enduring peace in the area,’’ Ofojebe said.
The Presidents-General of the two communities, Chief I. O. Aghadiuno and Chief Jude Orizu expressed gratitude toward effort of the state boundary committee at resolving the issues between them.
They also pledged their support and
cooperation for lasting peace to reign between them. (MOI)
