ANAMBRA TO COMMENCE 3RD EDITION OF SKILLS ACQUISITION

Awka, May 4, 2018 (MOI) Ministry of Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy, is set to commence the 3rd edition of skills acquisition and vocational training in the state.
The Commissioner for Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy, Bonaventure Enemali announced this at the National Youth Development Centre, Mgbakwu.
Enemali noted that the programme would also hold simultaneously at all the 21 Local Government Areas (LGA) of the state.
``Gov. Willie Obiano wants Anambra youths to be economically independent,’’ Enemali said.
The commissioner added that the ministry would ensure that all the skills acquisition centres in the state were put to maximum use, so as to take Anambra youths out of crime.
``The state is going to collaborate with the Federal Government to equip and make maximum use of the centres and provide the needed facilities for training.
``I am not happy that we have massive structures like this that we can use to empower the youth and we are not using it.
``The ministry will ensure that the facility is put to maximal use,’’ Enemali re-assured.
The Principal of the National Youth Development Centre, Mbaukwu, Mrs Grace Ogbuji, urged the state government to constantly utilise the centre for skills acquisition and vocational training of Ndi Anambra youths.
``The structure is an advantage to Ndi Anambra,’’ Ogbuji said.
The last edition of this training was held in June last year, where no fewer than 150 youths from different registered youth organizations, were trained in different skills.
