Osodieme reassures of commitment toward physically challenged, widows, youths too

Onitsha, Aug. 10, 2018 (MOI) Wife of Governor of Anambra State, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano has reassured of her commitment to Ndi Anambra, especially the physically challenged, widows and youths.
Mrs Obiano made this known during her yearly statutory empowerment tour to Onitsha North Local Government Area (LGA), GRA Onitsha, in conjunction with Ministry of Social Development, Children and Women Affairs.
She noted that the tour was part of her humanitarian services to widows, orphans, persons with disabilities as well as other economically disadvantaged persons in the LG.
``We will be supporting government initiatives which are to improve the fortunes of our indigent people,” she said.
Osodieme enjoined the physically challenged not to feel abandoned, but to engage the Caring Family Initiative (CAFÉ) Skills training and empowerment programmes as not less than 4,000 people have benefitted from it.
She emphasised that 350 persons that were trained previously would soon be equipped, urging Onitsha North community, pregnant and Nursing mothers to always go for free treatment and free Immunisation at different government hospitals.
Mrs Obiano, however, enjoined mothers to always report to the LG chairman whenever they were neglected at the hospital, noting that Old People's Home would be built in the three senatorial zones of the state.
Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Culture and Tourism, Mrs Sally Mbanefo, applauded Mrs Obiano for the special interest and care to Ndi Anambra.
According to her governor’s wife is a great inspiration to Anambra women and Nigerians at large, noting that Anambra State emerged the best in a recent immunization exercise.
The Onitsha North Transition Committee Chairman, Mr Patrick Agha Mba, commended Mrs Obiano for coming to the council to help the less privileged as well as empower the youths in the community.
Dignitaries at the occasion are members representing Orumba South constituency, Mrs Nikky Ugochukwu, Onitsha 1 Constituency, Mr Chigbo Enwezor, Oyi LG Chairman, Mr Nnamdi Onwuka.
The event also
witnessed sharing of items such as bags of rice, mosquito nets, exercise
books and school bags to less privileged, physically challenged and widows in
