ANAMBRA TO PARTNER FEDERAL GOVT ON TOURISM
In line with mission to project the state to global recognition, Anambra State government has stated its plan to partner with the federal government in developing every tourist center in the state.
This was disclosed when the State Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Culture and Tourism, Barr Stella Onuorah addressed some journalists in Awka, Anambra State.
Barr Onuorah noted that her ministry had finalized every arrangement to develop various tourist centers, such as Ogbunike Cave, Owerre Ezukalla Cave among others, geared towards improving the state economy and further attract development.
The Commissioner restated that the mission of Governor Obiano administration was to make the state a first choice investment destination and a hub for industrialisation and commercial activities, which when fully actualized would solve unemployment rate in the state.
Commissioner Onuorah observed that the present security situation in the state had created enabling environment for investors to harness the untapped potentials and boost the socio economic activities.
She revealed that the ministry having been newly created had organized several activities such as cultural fiesta, Pop Stars of the 70s, South East Festival of Arts and crafts, adding that its had equally mapped out additional activities for the year to boost the internally generated revenue of the state.
Other activities according to Barr Onuorah include, different free medical exercises carried out by various international bodies such as ASA USA, ASA Canada, ASA Japan and many more.
The Commissioner commended Governor Obiano for his doggedness and commitment in reshaping the state, saying all her ministries agenda were in line with “Aku Luo Uno” policy of the present government.
