ANAMBRA HOSTS MUSIC LEGENDS OF THE 70’s
The Anambra state government has flagged off the sensitization of the public for the celebration of pop stars of the 1970s.
The event tagged resurrection concert for the music legends is being facilitated by governor Willie Obiano and slated to take place at the Dr. Alex Ekwueme square on Easter Sunday being the 16th of April, 2017.
Addressing a world press conference ahead of the event, the Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Culture and Tourism, Barrister Mrs. Stella Onuorah, pointed out that Obiano administration is the first in more than four decades in Igboland to accord these groups the opportunity to play a recognition live show.
According to Barrister Onuorah, the primary purpose of the concert is to establish nostalgia and re-awaken the spirit of enterprise which their music conveyed with its appeal.
She listed the music legends as the One world, Sweet Breeze, Apostles, Wings, Funkees, Aktion, foundars 15, Semi-colon, Wrinkar Experience and Soky ohale.
Speaking during the event, the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Creative Media, Entertainment and the Music Industry, Mr. Bob Manuel-Udokwu used the forum to invite talented hidden musicians to take advantage of the programme to showcase their talents.
Mr. Udokwu commended the Obiano administration for giving a nod to the proposed concert and for ably piloting the affairs of the state with lots of achievements to show for it.
In his reaction, Mr. Vin Ikeotuonye commended the Obiano administration for his good works which qualify him to be returned for a second tenure in office
