To aggressively develop and sustain robust industrial, trade, commercial and cooperative
activities in Anambra State.


Second Business Park (ICT) Building, Onitsha
The State Government commenced the construction of the Business Park which comprised of three buildings; – Block A, Block B and Block C. The original concept of establishing the outfit is to create employment and boost revenue generation in the State. The complex was completed and commissioned by His Excellency, Chief Dr. Willie Obiano (Akpokuedike), Governor of Anambra State on October 2, 2014.

Solar Powered Street Lights
Since trade and commerce is undeniably the backbone of Anambra State economy, Governor Obiano sees infrastructural development of our markets as a critical role of the Government. Governor Obiano has commissioned solar powered street lights in all the major markets in the State, the first of its kind since the creation of Anambra State.

Close Circuit Cameras (CCTV)
Also in his avowed determination to rid our markets of all criminal activities, a close circuit television (CCTV) was recently installed at the Main Market, Onitsha. Today all acts of stealing especially pick pockets is a thing of the past in the market because culprits are easily detected by the CCTV cameras popularly called “Camera Willie”.

Drilling Water Bore-Holes
The drive to realize his cherished vision of modernizing all markets in the State, the Obiano administration currently drilling water boreholes, reticulation and installation of over head tanks in all major markets in the State.

Construction of Conveniences
In order to create a healthy and convenient environment for trade and commerce in the Light of the Nation State, construction of conveniences is presently on-going in all major markets in Anambra State.

Construction of New Markets
Governor Obiano in his inaugural address promised to build ultra-’modern markets and shopping the objective is to make Anambra the top three States in trade and commerce in Nigeria by 2018.
In realization of this target, the construction of the West Africa Trade Centre, Ogbunike, a Private Public Partnership (PPP) project was recently flagged by His Excellency. On completion, the Trade Centre is expected to be the first of its kind in West Africa.

Presently work has reached advanced stage in the construction of Anambra State International Market at Oba  Idemili south Local Government Area, meanwhile the perimeter survey for Anambra Ultra Modern Market Umunze has been completed, and plans for the commencement of construction work is on-going.

FGN-Assisted Anambra State Neem Based Fertilizer Plant, Amawbia Anambra State
The State Government, with the assistance of the Federal Government commenced the construction of 10,000 MT (ORGANO MINERAL) Neem Based Fertilizer Plant at Amawbia, Anambra State. The State Government in establishing/embarking on this noble project has the objectives of boosting agricultural outputs and ensuring food security in the State. The project is on-going and has reached 86% completion stage.

Idemili North Industrial Estate Perimeter Fencing Project
The administration of His Excellency, Chief Dr. Willie Obiano, (Akpokuedike) the Governor of Anambra State found it worthy to secure all the designated industrial Estate sites beginning with the Idemili North Industrial Estate site situated between Abatete and Ogidi towns. The site had been in contention between the two towns leading to communal clashes, until the State Government intervened and acquired the site. The perimeter fencing work is now in progress.
