OBIANO CALLS FOR DESIGN OF ENUGWU-AGIDI-ISUANAOCHA ROAD
By John Ndu
Enugwu-Agidi, Oct. 23, 2017 -- Gov. Willie Obiano has ordered for immediate submission of design of the Enugwu-Agidi-Isuanaocha road to the state Tenders’ Board.
Gov. Obiano said the road, which was strategic to state, would strengthen commercial activities within and outside, as it would connect many communities.
The governor gave the order after a brief meeting with some stakeholders at the premises of Sir Dan Okekenta, in Enugwu Agidi, Njikoka Local Government Area (LGA).
Obiano said the construction of the road would commence next year, after passage of the 2018 budget by the Anambra State House of Assembly.
According to him, the construction of roads across the state will always attract investments; we are doing this in addition to improving security in the state.
The governor noted that it was regrettable that kidnapping and other forms of insecurity had adversely affected economic growth of the state.
He, however, noted that his administration had arrested insecurity, giving rise to economic boom in the state.
The Traditional Ruler, Enugwu-Agidi, Igwe Uche Okeke and the convener, Sir Dan Okekenta were present at the event.
