LEARN VOCATIONAL SKILLS-- MRS. OBIANO URGES WOMEN

Umueze Anam(Anambra West) Aug. 24, 2018 (MOI) Wife of Anambra State Governor, Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano has enjoined Anambra women to come out and learn vocational skills that would better their lives and families.

Mrs. Obiano gave the charge when she visited Umueze Anam, Anambra West, Local Government Area (LGA) in continuation of her visit to all the 21 LGAs in the state.

She thanked the people of Anambra West, for their support to Gov. Willie Obiano’s administration.

The governor’s wife noted that Gov. Obiano would continue to provide more dividends of democracy to Ndi Anambra.

She encouraged women especially pregnant mothers to always visit government health care centers for antenatal and postnatal cares and learn vocational skills so as to support their husbands.

"Women should stop answering 'oliaku', but should rather come out and learn skills that would change the narrative from Oliaku to Okpataku," she added.

The Transition Committee Chairman, Anambra West, LGA, Mr. Tony Collins Nwabunwanne thanked Mrs. Obiano for the visit.

He described the governor’s wife as a caring mother and praised her for her passion for the less privilege, widows and indigent children.

The Chairman noted that Gov. Obiano’ administration has brought meaningful development to Anambra West, LGA.

“Before this administration came in, there were lots of dilapidated structures in the LGA, but today all have been renovated.

“Presently, Anambra West is experiencing unprecedented development owing to the gesture of Gov. Obiano," he added.

The wife of the Transition Committee Chairman, Mrs. Loretta Nwabunwanne described Mrs. Obiano as a mother and philanthropist who has remained committed towards fulfilling various promises made to Ndi Anambra.

She assured the governor’s wife that all the empowerment programs established in the area were fully functional.

Mrs. Nwabunwanne on behalf of the women and children in Anambra West, LGA thanked the governor’s wife for her motherly care and prayed for God’s guidance and protection on her and her family.

 “Women and children of Anambra West will continue to support the administration of Gov. Obiano,” she said

Other people present at the event were Member representing Anambra West LGA in the State House of Assembly and Majority leader, Mr Victor Okoye and wife of State Chairman, APGA, Mrs  Ebele Obi.

 Distribution of bags of rice to widows and less privileged as well as schools bags and exercise books to indigent children were part of the event.
