Otuocha (Anambra East), Aug. 27, 2018 (MOI) Wife of Anambra State Governor, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano has urged Ndi Anambra East Local Government Area (LGA) to plead with Government to support some projects that LG will be unable to financially bankroll.

Mrs Obiano said this during her visit to the less privileged at Otuocha Township Stadium, Anambra East council area.

She enjoined the indigent persons in the area to come and acquire skills and be empowered so that they would start up their own businesses.

Mrs Obiano admonished the pregnant women to always use their Primary Health Centre for anti-natal and post natal services in order to avoid maternal deaths of pregnant women in the area.

She urged the organisers of the visit to make a list of the less privileged who would benefit from donation of bags of rice and other materials during her visit next year.

Mrs Obiano commended Ndi Anambra East for their support during the Nov. 18, 2017 gubernatorial election, which her husband, Gov. Willie Obiano won. The Governor won in all 21 LGAs.

Commissioner for Children and Women Affairs, Mrs Ndidi Mezue thanked Mrs Obiano for her kind gesture to people of area and prayed God to continue to bless her.

``Mrs Obiano provided prosthetic limbs to people without limbs, housing for the indigent widows and provision of borehole and toilets in the markets.

``She also bankrolls skills acquisition by youths and the indigent persons as well as donation of wheelchairs.’’

Marcel Ifejiofor, Commissioner for Works on behalf of Aguleri political appointees and the Transition Committee Chairman, Anambra East council area, Mr Pius Ifeadi, commended Mrs Obiano for her visit to their people. (MOI)
