By Stanley Onunkwor : The Executive Governor of Anambra State, Chief Wllie Obiano has added another feather in his cap as the Association of Law teachers of Nigeria (NALTN) honoured him yesterday with an award of excellence on security.
Governor Obiano received the award during the 50th Conference of the association held at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
The President of the Association and Dean, Faculty of Law, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Prof. Godwin Okeke and The Vice Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Joseph Ahaneku while presenting the Award to the Governor acknowledged him for his giant strides in security which has made Anambra Crime free state that necessitated the choice of Anambra to host this year’s Conference, a gathering of well-meaning Nigerians, especially the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo.
Chief Obiano in his acceptance speech said that he met Anambra as haven for criminals, especially kidnappers and this scared investors, but now through his dynamic approach in tackling kidnapping and other crime, Anambra is now rated the Safest State in Nigeria and Investors haven.
In his words “Anambra stands out today as a shining example of what people can achieve if they place law and order and National Security above every other condition for National growth and development”. He believes that if Anambra can do it, Nigeria can do it.
He commended the organizers of the conference for their choice of the state, adding that he had no doubt that the event would lend new depths to understanding of the law in Nigeria.
