This was disclosed at the inauguration of community Infrastructural project and the laying of foundation stone for Ultra Modern Town Hall in Igbariam, Anambra East local government of the state.
Speaking at the event, the Governor, Chief Willie Obiano said his administration would always provide every measures to promote the welfare of citizenry.
Governor Obiano stressed that his government had mapped out additional N20 million to be given to communities for the second phase of the community development projects, adding that it was part of his efforts to cushion the present economic recession.
The governor promised to provide water as well as construct the 6 km road that leads to the Igbariam.
The Commissioner for Local government and Chieftancy Matters, Chief Greg Obi said the community development which Governor Obiano initiated had gone a long way in developing the state and giving financial respite to the people of the state.
Chief Obi disclosed that 50 communities in the state had roofed their projects, 22 communities had almost finished, 44 communities were at nogging stage, while 30 and 33 communities were either above or below PVC level.
Chief Obi maintained that the projects were being handled by the qualified indigineous contractors, with the aim to provide direct and indirect job opportunities for the people of the communities and to relieve the financial pains of the people.
The Commissioner urged the contractors handling the projects to speed up construction as the state had set aside every fund for the projects.
In his reaction, the President General of Igbariam Town Union, Chief Ikechukwu Orizu commended the governor for his lofty developmental plans to the state, vis-a-vis commencement of massive road construction, saying community would always support his administration.
